10 Super Powers Your Library Card Will Give You
The value of today’s libraries goes way beyond books. Libraries build a foundation for children’s future success starting from the earliest stages of development. Studies show that children who are read to in the home and who use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the library as a source of lifetime learning.
This September, the Huntsville-Madison County Library wants to make sure that every superhero-in-training has the most important tool of all – a free library card!
So, what powers does a library card wield?
- Free access to books! About 384,140 to be exact. The knowledge is limitless!
- Prefer electronic? We have thousands of ebooks available for download in our Digital Media Zone.
- We also have magazines, audiobooks, music, movies, and television shows available for download, all free for library cardholders!
- Need to connect to our superheroes? We have free wifi at all HMCPL locations!
- Even superheroes need a day off from fighting crime! Take an afternoon off to catch one of our library events.
- Is homework your kryptonite? Library cardholders access Homework Alabama for free!
- Need to exercise your mind even more? Check out one of our many STEAM-based programs.
- Superheroes have big responsibilities. Owning a Young Readers card is one of them.
- Libraries save you money… that is simply magical.
