Tinsel Trail Brings Twinkling Lights and Fun Back to Downtown Huntsville
- Free Holiday tree trail in downtown Huntsville
- Opens Friday, Nov. 26th, 2021 at 6PM
- Trees on display through Jan. 2, 2021
My kids, like most 21st century American children, love their iPads and Xbox and lots of other high-tech amusements. Yet it never fails that they still seem to love the simplest things the most. Bubbles, balloons, and all things light related provide hours of entertainment. We buy flashlight batteries like they are going out of style.
Needless to say, this time of year is a GOLDMINE for my kids. They always ask to take an extra loop around the block before pulling in the driveway, and Galaxy of Lights is a must for our family. So needless to say, the Tinsel Trail in downtown Huntsville makes us understandably excited.
This free display of live Christmas trees throughout Big Spring Park is celebrating 11 years in 2022 and is ideal for families looking to put a little magic into their holidays. While it’s a great nighttime visit, we’ve discovered that many of the trees look just as cool during the day! The display of live Christmas trees includes an anticipated 300 trees ranging from 6 to 11 feet in height, decorated and lit for the holiday season.
“We are thrilled to bring back Tinsel Trail in 2022,” said Chad Emerson, CEO and President of Downtown Huntsville Inc. “This free event is a holiday season tradition with over 300 Tinsel Trail trees in Big Spring Park East. We are excited to partner with Facebook again for this year’s trail and all the beautiful sights, sounds, and stories you’ll find at Tinsel Trail.”
Tinsel Trail always officially opens the Friday after Thanksgiving and usually stays up through the weekend after New Year’s Eve. This year’s Ribbon Cutting and Kick-off will happen on November 25th. Join in on the fun at Big Spring Park East at the Mayors Tree. The ceremony will be from 6-7PM.
